Director’s statement :

Being forced to leave my home by the Iranian government was a challenging experience, but documentary films and storytelling on social media gave me a new home where I found a platform to voice my activism and connect with others who share my passion for justice and freedom. Through this documentary, I aim to delve into the power of social media as a tool for communication and storytelling, and how it has enabled us to form a global community that transcends borders and unites us in our fight for a better world.

Reza Bird

The director, Reza Bird (this film features his own personal story), is an Iranian filmmaker who has been forced into exile due to his political and social activism. As a result, he has a deep understanding of the issues and concerns of those involved in the revolution and has a personal connection to the subject matter.

After Reza’s videos supporting the revolution went viral, a community of protesters and activists both inside and outside of Iran formed around his social media accounts. This resulted in an influx of first-hand stories and materials being sent to him. Now, he has a strong community of protesters and activists around his social media. Reza previously has worked with networks such as Arte, BBC, and VOA and also notable brands such as Twitch, Apple, and Gravity Sketch.
