DIRECT CINEMA WORKSHOP with Ateliers Varan
Doc Club & What the Doc!, in collaboration with Ateliers Varan, with the support of The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, The Embassy of France to Thailand, and Alliance Française de Chiang Mai through the French Team Fund Creation, Thailand 2024–2025, with venue support from TK Park and BACC.
Open call for applications for an Initiation on documentary filmmaking workshop led by Ateliers Varan, a renowned team from France specializing in the Direct Cinema approach. This intensive 5 days workshop will cover through a specific exercise, the full process of documentary filmmaking, from concept development and shooting to editing.
- Dates: July 23–27, 2025
- Venue: TK Park and BACC (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre)
- Participants: Limited to only 10 selected applicants
- Please note: The workshop will be conducted in English. Participants must be able to communicate and understand basic English.

Founded in 1978 and inspired by Jean Rouch, Ateliers Varan is a French organization focused on hands-on documentary filmmaking education.
