This hybrid documentary weaves various incidents from Isan, Thailand’s biggest but poorest region. It follows Mor Lam, a popular folk music with Lao roots, and explores pre and post-Cold War political uprisings. The narrative uncovers why Isan has been cursed with endless misfortunes, yet its people still smile, laugh, and enjoy life in a land of bloodshed and tears.
Based on an original concept by Thanom Chapakdee.
