เมื่อปีที่แล้ว Au Revoir Siam ของเขาคว้ารางวัล Grand Prize สาขา Thai Competition จาก WTD! 2025 ก่อนที่ Another Place ผลงาน VR ของเขาจะได้รับเลือกเข้า IDFA DocLab Program & Competition และ DocLab Spotlight ในปีเดียวกัน ล่าสุดในปี 2026 ผลงาน Typhoon Mambo ของเขาได้รับเลือกอย่างเป็นทางการในสาย Pardi di domani – Concorso nazionale และเปิดตัวรอบปฐมทัศน์โลกที่ Locarno Film Festival ครั้งที่ 79

1. Paper Houses and Horses
   “ด้วยการจัดวางองค์ประกอบอย่างประณีต ผู้กำกับพาผู้ชมเข้าไปใกล้โศกนาฏกรรมของการจากไปก่อนวัย และพิธีกรรมที่ช่วยส่งดวงวิญญาณไปสู่โลกหลังความตาย หนังใช้ภาษาภาพที่หลากหลายเพื่อสำรวจหนึ่งในประสบการณ์พื้นฐานที่สุดของมนุษย์”
2. A Moon for My Father
   “ผมดูหนังเรื่องนี้ที่ DocLisboa ในปี 2019 และมันสะเทือนใจผมอย่างมากจากการที่ผู้กำกับเปิดเผยร่างกายที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปและการต่อสู้กับโรคมะเร็งของเธอ นี่เป็นตัวอย่างที่งดงามว่าการทำสารคดีสามารถกลายเป็นกระบวนการเยียวยาตัวเองได้อย่างไร”
3. Invisible People

Guest Picks: Domenico Singha Pedroli, 3 Films Not to Miss at WTD! 2026

Domenico Singha Pedroli is a Swiss-Italian-Thai filmmaker, artist, and architect working across cinema, visual art, photography, and VR. His work often explores memory, identity, displacement, and the shifting relationships between people and places.

Last year, his film Au Revoir Siam won the Grand Prize in the Thai Competition at WTD! 2025. His VR work Another Place was later selected for the IDFA DocLab Program & Competition and DocLab Spotlight. Most recently, his 2026 film Typhoon Mambo was selected for Pardi di domani – Concorso nazionale and had its world premiere at the 79th Locarno Film Festival.

For WTD! 2026, we invited Domenico to pick three films he considers absolutely unmissable from this year’s festival.

1. Paper Houses and Horses
   Through a highly orchestrated setup, the director brings the viewer close to the tragedy of premature death and to the rituals that bless the dead in the afterlife. Different visual languages come together to explore a fundamental human experience.
2. A Moon for My Father
   I watched this film at DocLisboa in 2019, and it moved me deeply in the way the filmmaker exposes her transfigured body and her battle against cancer. It is a beautiful example of how documentary filmmaking can become an act of self-therapy.
3. Invisible People
   This outstanding work was made by a friend from school. Alisa creates a deeply immersive experience of butoh dance, allowing the viewer to arrive at an understanding through movement rather than exposition.
