Lost in her fears and fantasies, a young woman named Louise writes in a notebook, expressing her terror: of others, of herself, of the way she feels both like a plant and like something hunted.
A young man, Thomas, finds the notebook on a train and, captivated, reads through it, discovering Louise’s story of being haunted by ghosts and fantasies. As he turns the pages, he and Louise suddenly find themselves together in the heart of a forest, a nocturnal reality where dreams come alive and draw them toward each other.

Born in 1988, Isabel Pagliai lives and works in Paris. She studied literature, art history and cinema in Paris and graduated from Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains. Her cinematographic work combines a fictional approach with documentary filming. Her films have screened at numerous international festivals (International Film Festival Rotterdam, New Directors/New Films, Cinéma du Réel, and others), including the Viennale, which dedicated a monograph to her work in 2020. Her short film Isabella Morra (2015) won several awards, including Best International Short or Medium-Length Film at RIDM. Her short Tender (2020) won the Jury Prize for Best Film at DocumentaMadrid, the Short Film Grand Prize at IndieLisboa, and was pre-nominated in the Short Documentary category at the 2022 César Awards. Fantasy (2025), her first feature film, won the First Film Award at FIDMarseille and the Best Director Award at Doclisboa.
